Keeping it local – Fresha’s Philosophy
Let’s take a trip back to 2003, when Fresha was just a gleam in Managing Director Paul Bank’s eye and a concept on paper. Even back then, Paul included a section in his business plan highlighting the importance of the environment and his commitment to supporting our local economy. He envisioned a place where small businesses could thrive and the county could benefit. Fast forward to today, and our core values remain unchanged. Fresha is still known as the responsible catering company in the South West. Not only famed for our beautiful beaches and green rolling hills, Devon has an impressive reputation for its delicious local produce. And it’s no wonder, with so many enterprising businesses and bountiful farms making the most of our lush landscape and temperate climate.
At Fresha, we believe in looking no further than our own backyard when it comes to sourcing food for our business. Whether it’s for our café, outside catering, commercial contracts, or educational catering services, we prioritise local. Here in Exeter, we’re blessed with an abundance of high-quality produce from the region’s finest producers, almost right at our doorstep. Supporting local never tasted so good!
By keeping it local, we’re making a positive impact on the wider world too. Using local produce means fewer farm-to-fork miles and a smaller carbon footprint. Plus, with our food not traveling far, we cut down on wasted packaging. Delicious, fresh food with minimal packaging, fuss, and footprint—it doesn’t get better than this.
Some of our local producers
We’re not just saying this for the sake of it. Let’s give a shout-out to some of our amazing suppliers: Complete Meats in Honiton provides our meat; Frank H Mann in Torquay delivers our fruit and veg; Country Kitchen bakes our cakes in Torquay and gluten-free cakes, brownies and flapjacks from Cocorico in Exeter; pasties and pies are made by The Ginger Cat Deli in Cullompton, chutney comes from North Devon; SJB Foods near Sidmouth supplies cheese and cooked meats; and MJ Baker Food Service in Newton Abbot covers all our dry goods. Keeping it local never tasted so good!
Fresha by name, fresher by nature. Devon born and bred.
